DAY 2: MERZOUGA – DESERT ADVENTURE AND CAMEL TREKKING
In the Desert tours from Fes to Marrakech, we begin our day at 11:00, or earlier, and drive throughout the magnificent, towering sand dunes. While driving through this fabulous landscape, black, nomadic black tents appear in what can truly be described as the middle of nowhere!
We call in to a nomadic family for tea and experience a taste of nomadic life.
We continue our drive and our encounter with the nomadic Berber people with a visit to Khamliya, a village which appears to remain unchanged for centuries.
We lunch either in Khamliya or return to our hotel for lunch and a short respite.
After the break, we caravan by camel to experience one of the most fascinating sights, the superb sunset in the middle of the high sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. We stay the night in a Berber camp and enjoy a wonderful view of the sand and stars…
